SACO — Trailing 5-2 in the second half, the Scarborough girls’ lacrosse team got a jolt of offense, reeling off five straight goals to beat Thornton 7-6 Monday. Kelsey Howard scored with five minutes left to cap the offensive outburst for the Red Storm (7-1).

Mary Scott led the Red Storm with three goals and two assists. Howard had two goals.

PORTLAND 8, DEERING 7: Kylie Delbec put home the game-winning goal with less than two minutes to play as the Bulldogs (6-2) held off the visiting Rams (3-5) at Portland. Drew Barry led Portland with four goals.

MASSABESIC 8, KENNEBUNK 7 (OT): Alyssa Gilman scored with 1:10 left in overtime to give the Mustangs (6-2) a victory over the Rams (4-4) at Kennebunk.

Heather Everett had three goals for Massabesic, including the one that sent the game into overtime with 30 seconds left in regulation. Rose Bryant had four goals to lead Kennebunk.

CHEVERUS 14, WINDHAM 10: Sarah LaQuerre and Elyse Calazzo each had five goals to lift the Stags (5-4) over the Eagles (1-6) at Windham. Christina Pollard had four goals and an assist and Haley Batchelder had two goals and two assists for Windham.

BONNY EAGLE 18, NOBLE 1: Shannon Sanborn, Mallory Brooks, Jessica MacDonald, and Samantha Campobasso scored two goals each to lead the Scots (4-4) past the Knights (0-8) at Standish.

SANFORD 12, BIDDEFORD 10: Caroline L’Heureux’s six goals led Sanford (3-6) past the Tigers (1-4) in Sanford.

MT. ARARAT 16, MORSE 12 (OT): Haley Michaud and Rowley Jones, with five goals each, led the Eagles (4-3) to an overtime victory against Morse (3-4) in Topsham.

SOFTBALL

BIDDEFORD 3, WESTBROOK 2: Alex Quigley scored the go-ahead run on a single by Brianna Laverriere in the top of the sixth inning as the Tigers (6-5) held on to defeat the Blue Blazes (4-5) at Biddeford.

KENNEBUNK 4, BONNY EAGLE 3: Janelle Bouchard had a two-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game 3-3 before Megan Cadigan scored the game-winner on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to lead the Rams (8-1) past the Scots (4-6) at Standish.

WINDHAM 11, PORTLAND 4: Katelyn Tucker hit a three-run double as the Eagles (3-7) scored 10 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away from the Bulldogs (1-8) at Portland. Rucker finished with two doubles and four runs scored.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10, CHEVERUS 3: Erin Bogdanovich struck out 10 and allowed six hits in a complete-game effort to give the Red Riots (8-2) a win over the Stags (4-7) at South Portland.

Danica Gleason and Olivia Indorf had back-to-back home runs for South Portland. Gleason knocked in two and Indorf finished with three RBI on the day.

MARSHWOOD 3, GORHAM 1: Samantha Crossman hit two doubles with two runs scored to lead the Hawks (4-5) to a win over the Rams (3-7) at Gorham.

Nicole Harvey, Abby Romano and Jenessa Grant all had RBI singles.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 5, WINSLOW 2: Desiree Banner pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts, and Mallory Conary and Hannah Marks each hit a single with two RBI as the Panthers (9-1) cruised to a win over the Raiders (7-4) at Waldoboro.

OCEANSIDE 15, NOKOMIS 3: Jessie Vellieux had four hits and three RBI, including two on a home run, as Oceanside (7-1) beat the Warriors (7-3) in Rockland. The game that was stopped after six innings pursuant to the 12-run rule.

Jill Bradbury also had four hits for the Mariners, with two RBI. Molly Mellor and Hannah Hersom added three hits and two RBI each, while Natalie Russell drove home four runs on two hits.

FRYEBURG 10, POLAND 0: Sarah Harriman struck out 10 while holding the Knights (5-5) to one hit during a Fryeburg (8-1) win in Poland.

Maggie McConley had three of the nine Raiders hits, including an RBI triple. Carla Tripp’s RBI double keyed a three-run third that gave Fryeburg a 7-0 lead.

Amanda Gibson’s first-inning single was the only hit allowed by Harriman.

FALMOUTH 12, YARMOUTH 9: Alli Carver hit three singles, a double and two RBI as the Yachtsmen (5-4) jumped out to a 7-0 lead over the Clippers (2-7) at Yarmouth.

Maddie Inlow and Elizabeth Walker added two singles and an RBI each.

Kallie Hutchinson paced Yarmouth with a two-run triple and an RBI single. Lydia Ruetty helped with three singles and two runs scored.

YORK 14, WELLS 1: Lauren Bame struck out nine during a five-inning two hitter, and added a two-run single and an RBI double, as the Warriors (3-7) beat York (1-7) at Wells.

Maddie Taylor added a three-run triple to the Wells’ offense, and Kate Tufts, Abby Moody and Brigitte Boston had RBI singles.

THORNTON ACADEMY 23, DEERING 1: Julia Geaumont blasted two home runs, collected five RBI, and pitched four innings, striking out eight as the Trojans (8-2) cruised past the Rams (0-10) at Saco.

Geaumont allowed just one hit, to Deering’s Sara Brink.

SCARBOROUGH 11, McAULEY 0: Alyssa Williamson ripped a three-run homer and a two-run double to power the Red Storm (10-0) past McAuley (4-6) in Scarborough.

Erin Giles started for Scarborough, striking out nine while giving up two hits through six innings.

CAPE ELIZABETH 11, FREEPORT 2: Anna Goldstein tossed a six-strikeout three-hitter, leading Cape Elizabeth (5-3) past the Falcons (4-6) in Freeport.
