FREEPORT — L.L. Bean is celebrating spring with its annual Camping Weekend this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

According to a news release, a roster of events, demonstrations and clinics will be going on all weekend on topics ranging from Lyme disease prevention, water filtration, Leave No Trace ethics, camp cooking, knot tying and more.

Special interactive events include geocaching adventure hunt, interactive camp sites, build your own Swiss Army Knife, climbing wall, kids’ crafts, a live bird-of-prey presentation and Bean Canteen water bottle engraving.

And the Bootmobile, a larger than life, road-ready replica of the iconic Bean Boot, will be at the store all weekend, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Folks will also have the opportunity to see L.L. Bean’s 100th anniversary product showcase. These products, heritage based in their inspiration, give a respectful nod to a company history that’s deeply rooted and steeped in the outdoors and pay homage to a commitment, both then and now, to the outdoor lifestyle that not only spawned the company, but has helped shape it throughout the years.

All event activities are free.
