TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighthgrade baseball team went 1-1 last week.

On Tuesday, the Eagles lost to Oxford Hills, 11-4. Mt. Ararat had hits by Leo Leeman, Harper Moutal, and Shane Pennell.

In the second game of the week, Mt. Ararat played at home against Oak Hill and prevailed, 3-2.

Quinn Dutton of Mt. Ararat went six strong innings, striking out six batters.

The Eagles scored two runs in the second inning, with a clutch hit from Alex LaFountain, and a sacrifice bunt from Harper Moutal.

Moutal and Colton Yarbourgh also came through with a sacrifice bunt later in the game to advance the runners.

Oak Hill managed to get two runs in the top of the seventh, and had a runner on third with two outs to tie the game. Shy Ulrickson struck out the last batter to end the game.
