– Retired Maine game warden John Ford will talk about his new book, “Suddenly, The Cider Didn’t Taste So Good” at the Portland Public Library. The book focuses on his action-packed career: He’s been shot at by desperate prison escapees, outwitted by wily trappers and has rescued scores of animals. The event is part of the library’s Brown Bag Lecture Series, so people are encouraged to bring their lunches.
