In observance of National Historic Preservation Month, the Brunswick Village Review Board is sponsoring a photo series in The Times Record highlighting some of Brunswick’s hidden gems – parts of the town’s built environment that are architecturally or historically important, even if their significance is not immediately obvious. Today’s photo is fourth and last in the series. 250th Anniversary Park was created in 1989 to commemorate the town’s 250th birthday. The park is located on banks of the Androscoggin River, across Maine Street from Fort Andross and across the river from the Bowdoin Mill complex in Topsham. It overlooks a protected bend in the river where native peoples gathered to fish. (Emily Swan photo)
