SKOWHEGAN (AP) — A Maine beekeeper says someone stole 20 to 25 crates full of his bees valued at close to $3,000.
Bob Egan said he got the crates ready on Thursday to deliver them the following day to a buyer. But when he backed up his truck to load the bees Friday morning, they were gone.
Egan told WABI-TV that it’s pretty scary to think that people are stealing stinging insects in boxes.
He asked people to be on the lookout for the pastel-colored crates.
