BOWDOINHAM
Students in third through fifth grades at Bowdoinham Community School will perform “Time For Bowdoinham” Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
The play is free and open to the public. The school is located at 23 Cemetery Road.
This year is the town’s 250th birthday. Kate Gray is directing the play, which she said is about the history of Bowdoinham spanning from 1775 to 1954.
Gray said the plot unfolds when three kids in the present find a time capsule. In that time capsule are letters from three different kids from Bowdoinham, all written at different times in history. As each child reads one of the letters, the child who wrote the letter will appear on stage to continue reading the letter, which will be acted out. The play is based on real events, Gray said.
The play is funded by the Ferrier Foundation, Gray said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
