The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department dealt with a crash near the intersection of Wood School House Road and West Road on Monday morning.
The crash was reported at 6:41 a.m. According to Lt. Calvin Temple, Earl Glasscock, 80, of Litchfield Road in Bowdoin, was driving on Wood School House Road and crossed over West Road and drove up an access road to the J.R. Hill and Sons gravel pit, where his vehicle hit a steel gate blocking further access.
Airbags in Glasscock’s Chrysler deployed, causing minor injury to Glasscock’s face. He then backed up across West Road and went off the road along Wood School House Road just to the right of the stop sign, Temple said.
Bowdoin EMS and Lisbon Ambulance crews responded. Glasscock’s vehicle was towed due to the front end damage caused by impact with the steel gate.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
