BRUNSWICK — More than 30 businesses and organizations will participate in “Downtown Brunswick Celebrates the First Days of Summer,” a series of family friendly events, from June 18 through June 23.

Organized by the Brunswick Downtown Association, the event will include specials, promotions, instore activities and entertainment. No passes, tickets or coupons are required.

Participating businesses and organizations will display the First Days of Summer insignia.

Planned activities include a “Small Mall Carnival” that will include games, races, and arts and crafts; a make-your-own gummi shish kabob activity sponsored by Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections; and a sidewalk sale and a townwide yard sale on June 23.

A complete listing of promotions, activities and the yard sale registration form can be found at www.brunswickdowntown.org. Registration is required to be included in the event promotion.

As an added facet of the event, each business involved will contribute a gift certificate to a bonus drawing. To enter the drawing, attendees need to have their First Days of Summer Guide stamped or signed at participating businesses during the week.

Guides are available at all participating businesses and at the Brunswick Visitor Center and must be returned to any of these locations by 5 p.m. June 26. No purchase is necessary, and only one stamp or signature is needed to enter. Winners of the bonus drawing will be contacted directly by the BDA.
