BRUNSWICK — Three area teens are among Mainers vying for the title of Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen 2012, while one local lass competes for the title of Miss Maine 2012.

Emily Baker, Charlotte Crosby and Audrey Thames, all of Topsham, will compete for the Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen 2012 title on June 15 at the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School.

On Saturday, Felicia Hagerthy, 18, of Woolwich, will compete for the title of Miss Maine 2012, also at Crooker Theater.

The winners of both titles will be announced during the 76th annual Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant on June 16 at Crooker Theater.

Emily Baker, 14-year-old daughter of Erik and Tammie Baker, just completed eighth grade at North Yarmouth Academy. She will perform a tap dance routine for her talent, and her platform is “Fighting World Hunger.”

Charlotte Crosby, a 17-year-old junior at Mt. Ararat High School and daughter of Charles and Susan Crosby, will perform a comedic monologue for her talent. Her platform is “Building Selfesteem Through Theater Arts.”

Audrey Thames, a 17-year-old junior at Catherine McAuley High School, will perform a comedic monologue for her talent, and her platform is Asthma Awareness. She is the daughter of Wes and Karen Thames.

Felicia Hagerthy, Miss Merrymeeting Bay, is about to graduate from Morse High School. She will present a vocal selection as her talent, and her platform is “Autism Awareness.”

The Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen Program is the sister program to the Miss Maine Scholarship Program, the official state preliminary to Miss America.

The winner of the teen pageant goes on to compete at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Fla., in August. Miss Maine will compete in the Miss America Pageant, which will be aired on ABC television, in Las Vegas in January 2013.

Payment is by cash or check (payable to MMSP) only. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive your tickets, or you can pick them up at the door.

Tickets cost $20 for each night and can be purchased at the door.
