• Scott Blake joined Mortgage Network Inc. in Portland as a loan officer. Blake, of Windham, has more than 20 years of mortgage experience. He was previously employed by First Horizon, MetLife and Northeast Bank.

Nancy Wright, a nurse practitioner serving adults and families, joined the Bridgton Internal Medicine practice. Wright is also a clinical nursing instructor at CMMC College of Nursing and Health Professions in Lewiston. She was formerly with ASAP Medical Clinic in South Portland.

Paul Severino joined BGA Financial as an employee benefits producer. Severino previously held senior sales and marketing positions at Sun Life Financial and Unum. He also owned and operated The Sportsman’s Grill in Portland.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

F.O. Bailey Co. is marking 100 years of incorporation. Originally founded in 1819 by Henry Bailey, the business got its start as a general merchandise store at Ingraham Wharf. When Bailey died in 1867, the business was carried on by his son, F.O. Bailey, and was incorporated in 1912. The company was purchased by Joy and Jack Piscopo in 1977.

Cianbro earned a place on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 100 U.S. Contractors, coming in at No. 88 for 2012. The ranking is part of ENR’s Top 400 Contractors List, which ranks the nation’s largest general contractors by 2011 revenue. Cianbro was ranked 138 in 2011 and 169 in 2010.

Saddleback Ski Resort was presented with a 2012 Governor’s Award for Business Excellence. Since 2003, Saddleback has increased its work force from 66 to 225 during the peak winter season. The owners have invested more than $40 million during that time to improve and expand mountain and resort operations.

Dr. Mylan Cohen, medical director of non-invasive cardiology in the cardiology division at Maine Medical Center, was recognized with a distinguished academic achievement award by the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Cohen is a clinical professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.

• James Messerschmidt, a professor of sociology at the University of Southern Maine, recently received the 2012 Donald B. Leiffer Outstanding Alumnus Award from San Diego State University’s School of Public Affairs. The award was presented in recognition of his scholarly contributions to the fields of criminology, sociology and gender studies. Messerschmidt, of Cape Elizabeth, chairs USM’s department of criminology and teaches in the women and gender studies program.

Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough was recognized with a Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving quality care. The award was presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

Taylor Brook Animal Hospital in Auburn was voted Best Maine Veterinarian in the Downeast Dog News 2012 Readers Poll.

Five doctors at Maine Medical Center were identified among the top 1 percent of doctors in the U.S.: Brad Cushing, Don Endrizzi, Hector Tarraza, Tracey Weisberg and Robert Winchell.

Valerie Gamache, Brian Hamel and Shirley G. Rocque were recently presented with Molina Healthcare’s 2012 Community Champions Awards.

Gamache, of Freeport, volunteers for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and helps family members of loved ones who suffer from mental illnesses.

Hamel, of Presque Isle, volunteers as a coach for the Special Olympics Basketball Program in Aroostook.

Rocque, of Augusta, is a senior who volunteers at the Bread of Life Ministries Donation Center.

Legacy Publishing Co. announced the consolidation of its Auburn branch into its new facility at 100 Larrabee Road in Westbrook, effective July 2. All 30 employees of the Auburn branch have been offered positions within the company.

Coastal Rehab LLC has expanded from its current location in Cape Elizabeth to two new satellite clinics. The clinics are located within Fallbrook Woods’ Retirement Community at 418 Ray St. in Portland and within Ocean View’s Retirement Community at 32 Blueberry Lane in Falmouth.

Laurie Pelletier, manager of the Community Credit Union branch in Auburn, received her certificate as a CUNA Certified Financial Counselor. She lives in Litchfield.

St. Mary’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders earned a three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

Mister Bagel of New England celebrated its 35th year in business in Greater Portland. June 3, 1977, was the opening date for the state’s first bagel shop at 599 Forest Ave. Since then, the business has grown to 11 stores from Brunswick to Scarborough.
