Mary R. Garland, of Ocala, Fla. and formerly of Alfred, went into the arms of Jesus on June 1, just three weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. Her son, Andrew, and her sister, Beth, were by her side. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 1 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
