The Pen Bay Challenge, featuring a 40-kilometer bicycle ride, a 10K run and a 5K walk, will be held June 23 in Owls Head. The registration fee is $35 for an individual participant or $35 for a team plus $10 per member. The Maine Games State Field Hockey Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday at Berwick Academy. There will be a women’s tournament with no goalies on Saturday, and a scholastic tournament with goalies on Sunday. Registration is available at mainegames.sportssignup.com. Both tournaments are limited to the first 10 teams to register and pay.
MBR and the Portland Boys and Girls Club are holding basketball events for boys’ and girls’ varsity level teams on June 30 and July 1 at Central Maine Community College and the Portland Boys and Girls Club.
