HOPE CLADWELL, played by Mikayla Agrella, and Bobby Strong, portrayed by Preston Pounds, sing “Listen To Your Heart” in the Boothbay Playhouse production “Urinetown: The Musical,” which opens Thursday at the Boothbay Playhouse. A release from the playhouse describes the show as follows: An evil corporation, the U.G.C., or Urine Good Company, run by Caldwell B. Cladwell (John Adams) has taken over and manages the water supply by charging people for urinating at public “Samenities.” When the handsome, heroic Bobby Strong (Preston Pounds) decides to let everyone into the public amenity without charge, a revolution is started and battle ensues. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. June 28, 29, 30, July 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13 and 14. A matinee starts at 2 p.m. July 7.
