The Maine State Chapter of the National Football Foundation will host its 13th annual golf tournament at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club on Monday, July 9. The event is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start and serves as the foundation’s top yearly fundraiser to support the chapter’s scholarship fund and membership drive. It’s a four-man scramble format and includes coaches from every college football team in the state, as well as dozens of high school coaches and supporters of football in Maine. Spots in the event are still available but are going quickly. The fee is $110 for individuals and includes greens fees, cart, a post-round barbecue, prizes, refreshments and a membership into the National Football Foundation. Interested participants should contact Howard Vandersea at hvandersea@footballfoundation.com or 729-4210.
