Ochocinco gives deep-six to 85 moniker, officially he’s back as Chad Johnson now

Chad Ochocinco is officially no more. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver has changed his name back to the original Chad Johnson.

Johnson legally changed his name Monday in an appearance at the Broward County Courthouse. Johnson was known as “Ochocinco” for the past four seasons, with the name as a reference to the No. 85 he wore.

Johnson, a six-time Pro Bowl receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins earlier this year after being cut by the New England Patriots.

The New England Patriots signed defensive lineman Kyle Love, who originally joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent from Mississippi State in 2010.
