AUGUSTA (AP) — The deadline is closing in to submit paper applications for the 2012 any-deer permit lottery.
Applicants have until 5 p.m. today to apply in person at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife or by mail.
Online applications, which can be found at www.mefishwildlife.com, are due by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 15.
The game department no longer mails paper applications.
It’s free to apply for the anydeer or antlerless deer permit lottery. The drawing will be held Sept. 7.
