KITTERY POINT

The living history presentation of a Revolutionary War encampment will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fort McClary State Park, on Pepperrell Road, Route 103.

The Royal Irish Artillery will have a full British tent camp set up on the Upper Battery near the Block House and an American campsite will be located on the Lower Battery.

Re-enactors will dress in period clothing and demonstrate Colonial-era camp life, including cooking over a fire pit, period craft techniques, Colonial children’s games and a trader’s tent. Artillery demonstrations will be conducted and cannons will fire off on both days.

Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm has announced its line-up of activities this week.

A bird banding demonstration will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Two new living history programs are being offered at the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center at the 19th-century farm and museum this month.

“Touching the Past” features an hourlong program in the Farmer’s Cottage kitchen to learn about farm life in 1870. Play an artifact game to investigate how period items were used. Geared for ages 10 through adult, sessions are planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday and again Aug. 21.

Guided Nature Walks on a historic carriage trail to the Pools of Simeon will be offered for ages 8 and older. Sessions will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday and again on Aug. 23.
