Det. Don Blatchford, polygraph examiner for the Scarborough Police Department, has been elected president of the Maine Polygraph Association.

The Maine Polygraph Association (MPA) is an association of polygraph examiners dedicated to the establishment of the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and integrity within the polygraph profession in Maine. The MPA encourages the adherence to a recognized and accepted set of professional standards of polygraph procedures and techniques. They provide for and promote the exchange of information relevant to the polygraph profession among its members. Additionally, the MPA encourages and supports research, education and training in the field of polygraph in order for its members to continue to develop their understanding of the polygraph and its uses.
