BOWDOINHAM — The Merrymeeting Bay chapter of Ducks Unlimited is hosting its fourth annual Waterfowl Hunters Party Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Philip Mailly Waterfront Park along the Cathance River.

The organization focuses on wetlands and waterfowl conservation and held the first waterfowl hunters party in Bowdoinham in 2009.

Admission to the event is free, but there is a $25 entry fee for the competitions.

There is a decoy competition for floating carved decoys, a retriever competition that all breeds are welcome to compete in, a duck boat competition for both antique and modern boats rigged for hunting; and a calling competition for duck and goose. Both amateur and advanced competitors are welcome to this latter contest.

Dog owners are asked to bring water for their dogs competing in the retriever competition.

There will also be hamburgers, hotdogs and refreshments. For information, call Ron or Lisa Volk at 353-4003.
