BREWER (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a 55-year-old man who was staying at a Brewer home.

Police Chief Perry Antone says officers were called to the scene just after 6 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of an unresponsive man.

The state medical examiner and detectives with the Maine State Police also went to the scene.

The man’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta for an autopsy.

Antone tells the Bangor Daily News if the death is determined to be suspicious, state police will take over the investigation.

The man’s name is not immediately released.
