NEW FACES

• Judi Hawkes joined Mercy Health System as vice president of physician practices. Hawkes, of Cumberland, has 27 years of experience in the health care field. She was previously with MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, where she served as vice president of practice management.

• Patricia Ireland joined Saint Joseph’s College as director of its online theology program. Ireland was previously an assistant professor of religious studies at Dominican College in Orangeburg, N.Y.

PROMOTIONS

• Dr. Peter Manning, an obstetrician/gynecologist at Southern Maine Medical Center PrimeCare Women’s Health in Biddeford, was elected president of SMMC Prime-Care Physician Services. Manning, of Kennebunk, has been on the medical staff of SMMC for five years.

• Denis D’Auteuil was promoted to public works director for the city of Auburn. D’Auteuil, a Lewiston native, has served as deputy public works director for the past two years. He has more than 13 years of experience in management roles.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

• Prime Toyota and Prime Volkswagen, both on Route 1 in Saco, were named by Automotive News magazine as two of the 100 best dealerships in the country to work for. The trade journal did not release its rankings, so it’s not known how well Prime Toyota and Prime Volkswagen scored compared to the other top dealerships in the country.

GENERAL

• Medical Rehabilitation Associates has become a part of Spectrum Medical Group, a physician-owned practice with more than 150 board-certified physicians. The services provided by MRA will form the medical rehabilitation division of Spectrum Medical Group.

MRA, with offices in Lewiston, Brunswick and Rockport, provides pain management and rehabilitation services in midcoast, southern and central Maine.

• Maine Specialty IPA, a Maine independent practice association representing more than 250 physicians, recently announced the addition of Maine Nephrology Associates to its membership.

• Patricia Kasmarek, director of corporate compliance for Goodall Hospital, has completed the Certified in Healthcare Compliance Examination, thus earning the “CHC” designation.
