BRUNSWICK — Mary K. Haley, 75, died Aug. 10 at her home. She was born in Brunswick on Feb. 5, 1937, the daughter of George and Ruth Collins Bamforth. She graduated from Brunswick High School, class of 1957. 

She married Henry E. Haley in Norwalk, Calif., on June 27, 1957. Following her husband’s career with the U.S. Navy, the couple returned to Brunswick in 1970.

Haley worked at nursing homes, area stores and the Brunswick Naval Air Station Exchange. She also operated a day-care service in her home from 1989 until the mid-1990s. Haley was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Bowdoinham, and a substitute teacher in the church’s Sunday school.

She is predeceased by four sisters, Virginia Staples, Margaret Carter, Marion Garland and Elizabeth Carter.

She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Brunswick; a son, Edward  G. Haley, of Lisbon Falls, and his wife, Lisa; a daughter, Deborah Haley, of Brunswick; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held at Brackett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jon Stratton officiating. Interment was at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Condolences may be expressed and a tribute of her life viewed at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
