Morse and Mt. Ararat are teaming up for a breast cancer fundraiser with a preseason field hockey scrimmage at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Donations are requested in lieu of an admission fee. Those who cannot attend but would still like to donate can make checks payable to The American Cancer Society, and either give it to players or coaches from both teams, or mail them to Kelly LaFountain, varsity field hockey coach, Mt. Ararat High, 73 Eagles Way.

The 32nd annual Maine Sport Triathalon will be held Sept. 2 at Barrett’s Cove on Megunticook Lake in Camden. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race is at 9. The fee is $40 for individuals, $70 for teams. The race consists of a half-mile swim, 26-mile bike ride, and 6.6-mile run. Participants will receive T-shirts and postrace refreshments will be available. Prizes will be awarded and there will be a merchandise raffle. Maine Hoops will hold league placement/tryouts starting with the boys’ tryouts Sept. 8 and 16. The girls’ placements will be held Sept. 9 and 15. Placements will be held for both boys and girls in central Maine at the Gilman Street Basketball Club in Waterville on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 16.
