BOSTON — A high-profile Boston defense attorney who once represented the German man who called himself Clark Rockefeller has had his license to practice law in Massachusetts reinstated by the state’s highest court.
Stephen Hrones’ license was suspended by the Supreme Judicial Court in September 2010 after it was determined he allowed a law school graduate who had not passed the bar examination handle cases for his firm.
The SJC this month allowed the 70-year-old Hrones to practice provided he handle only criminal cases and police misconduct cases, his areas of expertise.
Hrones tells The Boston Globe he’s “excited” to get back to work and will “ease” his way back in by practicing from his Concord home.
His license was reinstated in part for the services he has provided for the indigent.
