SACO — Saco’s Animal Control Officer, Bruce Reynolds, said he will begin removing feral cats from the city’s Camp Ellis neighborhood within the next seven days.

Residents are being asked to place collars on their cats with their name and address, police said.

Cats whose owners cannot be identified will be transported to the Animal Welfare Society shelter in Kennebunk.

The Animal Welfare Society is working with a Portland organization to place the cats in homes.
