PORTLAND – Merrilla Michael scored in overtime from Jo Moore and Lauren Cressey to give Waynflete a 2-1 victory against Old Orchard Beach in a Western Maine Conference field hockey opener Wednesday.

Jamie Crowley scored for Old Orchard in the first half before Moore tied it unassisted in the second for the Flyers.

BOOTHBAY REGION 2, ST. DOMINIC 1: Sarah Caron and Alex Clarke scored in the second half for the Seahawks at Boothbay Harbor.

Caron scored 8:30 into the second half and Clarke made it 2-0 with 9:10 left. Brittiny Eastman scored for St. Dom’s with 2:45 remaining.

CAPE ELIZABETH 8, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Lauren Steidl and Aubrey O’Meara scored two goals each, and Jane Coffrin, Hailey Petsinger and Abby McInerney also scored for the Capers at Gray.

TRAIP ACADEMY 3, POLAND 2: Ashleigh Roberts tipped in a shot by Kaylie Andrews just over a minute into overtime to lift the Rangers at Kittery.

Sarah Noble had two goals for Traip.

Mimi Carmichael had the opening goal and Amanda Dube made it 2-2 with just under four minutes remaining in regulation for Poland.

Emily Bolton stopped four shots for Traip. Nelora Laboie turned aside 12 shots for Poland.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 7, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Christina DiPietro finished with three goals and one assist, and Syke Dole added two goals to lead the Raiders at Fryeburg.

Kylie Locke and Kendra Fox added one goal each, and Ellen Bacchiocchi had two assists for Fryeburg.

Chloe Ronco finished with 30 saves for Sacopee.

LAKE REGION 4, YARMOUTH 1: Lucy Fowler and Kayleigh Lepage each scored twice, and the Lakers scored three unanswered goals in the second half at Yarmouth.

Fowler broke a 1-1 tie 6:13 into the second half and got her second with 8:16 left.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, FREEPORT 0: Juliana Tardiff had two goals and Elizabeth Coughlin made seven saves for the Panthers at Freeport.

Marina Poole also scored, Olivia Madore had two assists and Kayla Rose also had an assist.

Tallie Martin stopped 12 shots for Freeport.
