BATH

Every spring, the downtown support organization Main Street Bath arranges to have cascading flower baskets hung on the district’s lampposts, to grace downtown Bath throughout the summer.

To help fund this urban garden for the community, Main Street Bath’s annual mums sale is now in progress, with all profits to be donated to the Main Street Bath downtown flowers fund.

Orders must be received by Wednesday, Sept. 12. Plants will be available for pick up on Friday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. until noon at City Park by the Patten Free Library on Washington Street. More information is available by calling the Main Street Bath office at 442-7291.

Those who pre-order fall flowers now will not only help beautify the downtown next summer but will also keep their own gardens flowering into the fall with colorful mums and flowering kale.

This year’s mums sale offers a choice of 15 different colors plus two flowering kale options, all grown locally by Hawkes’ Farm in Bath. These large, healthy plants are available in 8-inch pots for $5.50 each.

To review colors, download an order form or order online at www.visitbath.com, or pick up an order form from downtown businesses or at the Main Street Bath office at 15 Commercial St. in Bath’s historic train station.
