BRUNSWICK — Merrymeeting Adult Education’s next Certified Nursing Assistant course starts Sept. 10 at Maine Vocational Region Ten.
Classroom sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 9 p.m., and clinical sessions run from 4 to 10 p.m., also on Mondays and Wednesdays. Clinical sessions are held at Parkview Hospital and Hawthorne House.
The CNA program consists of 180 hours of health-care training and successful students receive a CNA certificate from the state of Maine. Graduates of the program are eligible to work at nursing homes, hospitals and home health-care agencies, where they can assist patients with daily living activities and provide bedside care under the supervision of a register nurse.
The cost of the CNA course is $825 for residents of Brunswick, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell and Topsham, and $850 for non-residents.
