Women’s golf tourney raises $11,500 to benefit SMMC’s breast care center
A recently-held “Pink on the Links” fundraising golf tournament, sponsored by the Biddeford-Saco Ladies Association of the Biddeford-Saco Country Club, raised $11,500 to support the work of Southern Maine Medical Center’s Center for Breast Care.
Some 130 women played in the tournament, held July 20 at the Biddeford-Saco Country Club.
Proceeds will help provide services for York County breast cancer survivors.

High school honors staff and students with certificates, T-shirts and breakfast
Wells High School recently honored two staff members and several students during a “Breakfast of Champions” recognition event for their positive contributions to the school.
Staffers Nancy Cotty and Jennifer Lewia were honored along with the following students: Zachary Banks, Alisha Barbour, Morgan Brewster, Michelle Hubbard, Miranda Hussey, April Kalde, Jamie LaPointe, Christian Levesque, Derek Littlefield, Corey Ludden, Hunter McDonnell, Patrick Menard, Morgan Miller, Nick Mundy, Nathan Ouellette, Zachary Pierce, Thomas Signoretti, Thomas Signoretti and Ben Wright.
The honorees received a certificate of recognition and a free T-shirt during the breakfast held in their honor.
