COLCHESTER, Vt. — Police say a Vermont man had to be rescued after he got in trouble trying to save his computer.

Police in Colchester said 42-year-old Randy Lamore of Winooski was walking along railroad tracks near a power dam recently. He dropped his computer, which fell 100 feet below. It landed on the bank of the Winooski River.

WCAX-TV reports Lamore tried to retrieve the computer, but got stuck on some rock ledges in thick underbrush. He was able to call 911.

Police said it took rescue crews half an hour to find him, and another hour to rescue him. He was not hurt.
