TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School boys soccer team opened its season recently with two victories.
The boys beat Oak Hill 8-1 to open the season.
Jacob Laurence and Steven Schuman split time in net. Hank Gilson, Kyle Brown and Mark Abreu played well on the defensive side of the ball.
Jimmy Pelletier controlled the center of the field, playing a strong game.
Jacob Sturgess had a hat trick for the Eagles, while Cole Guerin, Sawyer Watson, Orion Sargent, Justin Milne and Jacob Laurence each had a goal in the win.
The Eagles also beat rival Bath 5-0.
Schuman and Elliot Bowie combined for the shutout in the net.
Gilson, Brown and Noah Brillant played well defensively for the Eagles, and Sturgess scored two goals. Guerin, Pelletier and Orion Sargent chipped in with one goal each.
