Parkview Adventist Medical Center named Randee Reynolds president of the Brunswick hospital Wednesday, elevating him from interim president as the facility pursues a merger with a Lewiston-based company.
Reynolds, of West Gardiner, had been interim president for the past six months.
“This is a critical time for Parkview, and we are pleased to have a seasoned executive such as Randee take over the helm of our organization,” said Parkview Board of Directors Chairman Mike Ortel. “During the past six months, Randee has brought about improved performance, added new services needed by the community and developed a reputation as a compassionate leader who is committed to Parkview’s continued growth and success.”
The merger between Parkview and Central Maine Healthcare, which is the parent organization of Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and hospitals in Rumford and Bridgton, was approved unanimously by Parkview and CMHC boards. It now is the subject of review by the state.
Since 2008, Reynolds has been employed by the Northern New England Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist, most recently holding the position of secretary/treasurer. Before moving to Maine, he was vice president of business development for the Florida Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist. Reynolds also has served as a member of the board and the finance committee for Florida Hospital, a 10-hospital system based in Orlando, Fla.
“I am honored to be asked to provide leadership for this great organization and look forward to building upon the tradition of personalized service that has been the hallmark of Parkview’s reputation over the past 53 years,” Reynolds said in a news release. “With an excellent medical staff, a remarkable group of employees, and our strong partnership with Central Maine Healthcare, Parkview stands ready to face the challenges of a rapidly changing health care environment.”
Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick is a 55-bed hospital owned by the Northern New England Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist.
Reynolds has said Parkview’s merger with CMHC would erase Parkview’s affiliation with the Adventist Church. Under the CMHC proposal, the facility would become “Parkview Hospital,” with a local board of directors answering to CMHC’s board.
