MEDFORD, Mass. — Tufts University (6-1) scored a pair of first-half goals on its way to a 3-1 victory over the University of New England in non-conference field hockey action Wednesday at Bello Field.
The Nor’easters dropped to 4-4 on the season.
Trailing 2-0, UNE closed the gap right after halftime. Casey Clark pushed the ball down the right side before centering a pass to classmate Hayley LaPointe of Topsham, who finished the play 49 seconds into the frame.
LaPointe leads the team in scoring with six goals and two assists.
The Nor’easters return to conference play this weekend when they travel to Endicott College on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. showdown with the Gulls in a rematch of last season’s Commonwealth Coast Conference title game.
