Republican U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Summers will be in Washington, D.C. Wednesday evening looking to boost his campaign war chest.

An invitation of the event was obtained by the Sunlight Foundation service Party Time, which gathers fundraising invitations for congressional members and candidates. According to the invitation, Summers will be joined by Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., Senate minority whip Sen. Mitch McConnell, R, Ken., Sen. John Cornyn, R-Tex., as well as Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.

Attendees must contribute to attend the event. Donations begin at $250 for "young professionals." The maximum donation per couple is $5,000 and $5,000 for political action committees.

Summers has bowed out of two debates scheduled for Thursday. One, The Maine Women’s Forum, is sponsored by the Maine Women’s Policy Center, the AARP and the University of Southern Maine. The other, which begins at 3 p.m., is hosted by the Maine Municipal Association.
