To the Editor:
Recently, a few of us who are nurses here in Brunswick were chatting at lunch about the current health care situation in our community.
We came up with a slogan which, we think, says it all: “What’s a ‘view without the ‘coast? Together we’re better!”
On a personal level, I grew up in this town. I care deeply about our future and I love working to provide care for the residents in our town and surrounding regions.
This is a letter to my community. It is time for Parkview and Mid Coast to come together to serve our community in the best way possible. Taking care of people is our shared mission. I want to suggest that our two hospitals come together to work with a shared vision and keep our eyes on the long term view, which is what is best for our friends and loved ones?
If we work together to do just this, it can only bring benefits to our town and our neighbors.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
