Barbara G. Wishart, 78, of Wakefield died on Sunday, October 7 at the Melrose- Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Bath, Maine on February 10, 1934 she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Hawkes) Greene.

Mrs. Wishart was a graduate of Morse High School in Bath, Maine. She had been a Wakefield resident for the past 54 years. Mrs. Wishart was a 40 year member of the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and a former member of the Wakefield YMCA Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield.

Mrs. Wishart is survived by her husband John G. Wishart, her son Scott Wishart and his wife Kara of Braintree and her two daughters; Ann Decker and her husband Dwight of Lynnfield and Albuquerque, New Mexico and Gay Neilson and her husband Paul of Denver, CO. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Katherine and Andrew Decker, Chris and Peter Neilson and Michael and Meredith Wishart. Mrs. Wishart was predeceased by her two brothers; John and William Greene and her three sisters; Doris Syring, Eleanor Owen and Helen Greene.

A funeral service will be held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Saturday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday from 4-8. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
