OAKLAND — Messalonskee, coming of its first loss last week to Brunswick, jumped out to a 34-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back in a 68-7 Pine Tree Conference victory over winless Mt. Ararat (0-7) on Friday.
Corey McKenzie rushed for 96 yards and four touchdowns in the first quarter, while Antonia Bellavance returned an interception for a score.
Messalonskee (6-1) led 55-0 at the half.
Mt. Ararat running back Joey Burr rushed for 130 yard on 13 carries to lead the visitors, who host Skowhegan this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m.
Mt. Ararat’s lone score came on a Ryan Smith (12 carries, 47 yards) run, followed by his extra-point kick.
On defense, Mt. Ararat was led by eight tackles by Mike Tran, seven stops from Jordan Castonguay and a fumble recovery by Brandon Wyatt.
