BRUNSWICK

Brunswick police and rescue responded to two minor accidents last weekend.

On Saturday, police responded to a rollover around 1 p.m. Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Eric Brewer, 34, of Woolwich, was driving east on Route 1 and reported to police he lost control due to a mechanical issue.

The vehicle went off the right side of the road and rolled over.

Hagan said Brewer, the sole occupant of the truck, sustained abrasions and bruises on his arms but was not transported. No charges were issued.

Police also responded to a two-vehicle crash Friday at 5:49 p.m. in Cook’s Corner.

Hagan said a 2012 Ford driven by Laura Swindler, 53, of Sabattus, was attempting to turn right from Bath Road to enter Route 1. She looked over her shoulder and saw no oncoming traffic and drove forward, hitting a vehicle stopped in front of the railroad tracks — a 2008 Ford driven by Christopher Beal, 30, of Brunswick.

Beal complained of neck pain but wasn’t transported. Swindler was not injured. No charges were filed as a result of the crash.
