BRUNSWICK — For the second straight time, Bowdoin junior Katie Riley has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Riley piled up four goals to lead the Polar Bears to a pair of road wins over the weekend. After netting a hat trick in her team’s 6-0 win over Hamilton on Saturday, she scored 2:13 into overtime in their 1-0 triumph over Amherst on Sunday.
Riley was also named NESCAC Player of the Week last Monday.
Currently riding a ninegame point-scoring streak, Riley has been red hot of late. She has amassed nine goals and four assists over her last five games. She has been especially lethal in conference play, scoring 11 of her 12 goals and seven of her eight assists against NESCAC foes this fall.
The third-ranked Polar Bears have a seven-game winning streak entering the final two games of the regular season. Bowdoin will host Trinity this Saturday at 11 a.m. before traveling to Tufts on Oct. 24 for its regular season finale.
