GORHAM — Senior Kelly Wallace had three assists to help the visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors defeat the University of Southern Maine Huskies 4-1 in a Little East Conference women’s soccer match Saturday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
The win snapped a threematch winless stretch (0-2-1) for the Warriors, and improved their record to 7-6-2 overall and 5-1-0 in conference play. The Huskies dropped their fourth straight match to slide to 2-13-0 overall and 1-5-0 in LEC matches.
Southern Maine sophomore Mariah Cropley of Topsham scored the lone goal for the home side, knocking in a corner kick taken by freshman Brooke Lawrence of Lisbon Falls. The marker was the first of the season for Cropley.
Southern Maine hosts instate rival Saint Joseph’s College in non-conference action on Thursday (3 p.m.).
