YARMOUTH—Alan Van Orden Cook, 76, of Yarmouth, died Oct. 17. He was born in Tuxedo, N.Y., graduated from Bates College, and worked at Unum. 

Cook is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (Burgess) Cook, of Yarmouth; his daughter, Susan Hammann and her husband, Andrew, of Freeport; his son, Peter Cook and his wife, Kim, of Terryville, Conn., and their children Emily, Jack, Ryan and Sunny.
