To the Editor:

Mattie Daughtry — one of three candidates for Brunswick’s District 66 seat in the Maine House — is bright, talented, honest and experienced.

She has worked for private business, a statewide nonprofit serving disabled adults and children, and in Augusta politics.

She would be a great choice for all of these reasons. But perhaps the most important reason of all is that she is female. Politics should not be a boys’ club. There are not enough women in politics at any level. And Mattie is eminently qualified.

We would be fortunate to have a woman of Mattie Daughtry’s intelligence, experience and integrity representing Brunswick.
