BRUNSWICK (AP) — Officials say Maine’s independent U.S. Senate candidate Angus King maintained an edge over Republican Charlie Summers during the federal reporting period from Oct. 1 through Oct. 17.

King’s campaign said Tuesday that the candidate raised nearly $387,000, compared to roughly $325,000 for Summers. But King maintained a big overall advantage having raised $2.7 million, compared to $1.1 million for Summers, since the campaign started.

King’s spokeswoman, Crystal Canney, said nearly two thirds of King’s donors come from Maine.
