To the Editor:
As a working mother with children enrolled in the public school system, I am supporting Jennifer DeChant for House District 62.
A quick review of the current Legislature shows that a disproportionate number of elected officials are men, many of whom are retired. At the other end of the spectrum, there are some young people fresh from college and early on in their careers. Jennifer is a working mom with two young sons and we need more, not fewer, elected officials in this demographic.
While I’m sure that the other representatives are sensitive to the challenges faced by working families, it comforts me to know that my representative can be someone who shares my experiences.
I urge Bath voters to join me in supporting Jennifer DeChant for House District 62.
