SCARBOROUGH — In anticipation of stormy conditions from 8 p.m. Monday night through 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, Scarborough Police announced access to Higgins Beach will be limited to residents beginning at 6 p.m.

Police also said rescue boats will not be launched because of safety concerns for emergency responders, and anyone surfing or entering the water does so at their own risk.

The Plannning Board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. has been canceled. The special 6:30 p.m. South Portland School Board meeting has also been canceled.
