POWNAL
Three people received minor injuries in a single-car rollover Wednesday night.
The accident occurred before 9 p.m. near the Libby and Tuttle roads. A 1997 Honda driven by Katrinalee Blake, 17, of West Bath swerved to avoid a deer, went off the road, rolled and rested on the driver’s-side door.
Patrol Capt. Don Goulet of Cumberland County Sheriff ’s Department said Blake was driving too fast for conditions and lost control when she tried to avoid the animal.
Five other people were passengers in the car: Cresten Farmer, 16; Hunter Barnes, 19; Alex Turner and Dillon Johns, both 20; and Danny Jones, 52. No addresses were given.
All were wearing seat belts, and the car’s air bags deployed. Pownal Fire Chief Jesse Peters said three had minor abrasions, cuts and bruises, while three others were unhurt.
All of the occupants got out of the car by themselves and were standing beside it, waiting for emergency crews to arrive, Peters said.
None of the crash victims required hospitalization and no criminal charges were issued.
