To the Editor:
We have two parties, remember? Would the public media actually state confirmed facts, not biased opinions?
From what I hear and view, the Democratic coverage in radio, TV and newspapers far outweighs that of the Republicans. By doing this, the media makes it more difficult for Maine citizens to have access to properly balanced viewpoints.
Let’s get to actual, basic needs and discuss real, important issues, such as jobs, security, clean food, protecting family values, education and living conditions. Get us out of debt. If that starts with stopping Big Bird, so be it.
This holding out empty hands, wanting more yet complaining that life is unfair: You get what you work for, whether you are a garbage collector or president. We need less government “pork” and more meat and potatoes. We need to cut our wants and work toward actual needs.
We need a government that gives us back our self-worth, self-respect and pride in being a true American. I do not want to live under socialism or a dictator. If I did, I would move elsewhere.
We need a strong, dependable, on-the-job president. We need a Senate and House that sincerely are concerned for our country and work together. We need less government telling us what and how to do it, not allowing citizens to think and act for themselves.
President Obama has not fulfilled what he promised four years ago. America needs new leadership that is serious about getting our country back to the level of respect we once had; leadership that builds, not destroys, our security and independence.
Remember the Great Depression? Watch out: We are traveling a very narrow road today.
You really want freedom? Then vote for Romney/Ryan. Give them a chance to rebuild our great country. A new broom sweeps clean!
