SPOKANE, Wash. – Taylor Greenfield scored a career-high 18 points, hitting six 3-pointers, to help top-ranked Stanford beat Gonzaga 69-41 in a women’s basketball game Sunday.
“It really shows what kind of team we are,” Greenfield said. “When someone is hot we find them. They want you to shoot until the streak ends.”

Chiney Ogwumike had 21 points and 11 rebounds for Stanford (8-0). Taelor Karr and Haiden Palmer led cold-shooting Gonzaga (6-2) with 10 points each.

(8) GEORGIA 60, GEORGIA TECH 50: Jasmine Hassell scored 22 points, and the Bulldogs (9-0) held the Yellow Jackets to 30.2 percent shooting at Atlanta in a victory over their in-state rival.
(16) TENNESSEE 102, (22) NORTH CAROLINA 57: Meighan Simmons scored a career-high 33 points and exceeded the 1,000-point mark for her career as the Volunteers (6-1) easily earned their sixth consecutive victory. Simmons shot 12 of 22, including 9 of 11 in the first half.
(19) UCLA 86, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT 66: Markel Walker had 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to lead five players in double figures, and the Bruins won easily at Los Angeles.
ROGER WILLIAMS 69, COLBY 46: Alexandria Lanieri and Elizabeth Kilzi each had 18 points to lead the Hawks (2-4) over the Mules (3-3) at Waterville.
Diana Manduca led all scorers with 20 points for Colby. Brooke Chander added 10 points, with a pair of 3-pointers.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
NORTH CAROLINA 4, PENN STATE 1: The Tar Heels (15-5-3) scored three goals in the second half at San Diego to beat the Nittany Lions (21-4-2) and win their 21st NCAA championship.
With the game tied 1-1, Hanna Gardner scored 48 seconds into the second half when she converted Katie Bowen’s corner kick with a header past Penn State keeper Erin McNulty.
Satara Murray, who set up the Tar Heels’ first goal early in the opening half, made it 3-1 in the 64th minute when she put home a rebound of a shot by Kelly McFarlane. Ranee Premji capped the scoring a little over 10 minutes later.
