BRUNSWICK — Eleanor L. Jaques, age 93 of Peary Drive, died Friday, November 30th at Mid Coast Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1919 in Milford, MA, the daughter of Roy and Henrietta Pettingill Dunton.

She graduated from Milford High School and on January 20, 1941 married Laurence S. Jaques, who passed away in 2003. In 1958, the Jaques family moved to Brunswick, where Eleanor worked as a librarian in area public schools and at the public library.

She was an active member both the Milford, MA and Brunswick Communities. Also, she was very active in parish life at St. Charles Borromeo Parish and was a founder of People Plus and Brunswick Meals on Wheels. Eleanor enjoyed watching the Red Sox and loved to celebrate being Irish by organizing an annual St. Patrick’s Day party at the library.

Eleanor is survived by a sister Leah H. Robinson of Chesterfield, VA, daughter Cheryl Ann Jaques of Hugo, MN, two sons Richard Laurence Jaques of Stockton, MO and David Michael Jaques of Saco, niece/godchild Patricia White of Chesterfield, VA, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 4th from 2-4 PM at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 5th at 10 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St. Brunswick. Burial beside her husband will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St. Brunswick, ME 04011 or to the Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
